Hi everyone, how are you? After sharing with you the first part of this unique experience in the Dominican Republic (if you haven’t read it yet, click here ), I’m back to tell you all about the second and most intense stage of the IADWP – Academy Destination Wedding Congress , which took place on May 26, 27 and 28, 2025 , bringing together more than 400 professionals from almost 40 countries . A true meeting of cultures, ideas and trends that are shaping the future of the wedding and celebration market around the world — and with a very special detail: once again I was the only Brazilian present!
The official congress program kicked off with a vibrant opening ceremony at the Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino, where we were greeted with cultural performances and an inspiring message from the IADWP organizers. The feeling was clear: we were in for a day of content, but also of deep human connection.
During the three days of the conference, we delved into fundamental topics for those who work in this market. The presentations were divided into thematic tracks that covered everything from creating unforgettable experiences to personal branding strategies and using technology to improve the customer journey. One of the panels that stood out the most to me was on Emotional Design in Events, which explored how to provoke memorable sensations through decoration, storytelling and sensory interaction. Another highlight was the module on Innovation in Luxury — a topic that is increasingly connected to authenticity and personalization, and less to ostentation.
Between one panel and another, we had incredible networking sessions, where I met professionals from Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Mexico and many other countries. Exchanging experiences with people who work in such different realities — but with the same passion in common — was a true gift. And of course, I couldn’t fail to mention the moment when Brazil shone: I received many compliments for the work of Aonde Casar and for the creative and strategic vision we have in our national market.
On the 29th, it was time to say goodbye to this welcoming country and this powerful event — but not before thanking IADWP immensely for the invitation and for trusting me in representing Brazil. I return home refreshed, with a suitcase full of new contacts, valuable learnings and, most importantly, with the certainty that the future of destination weddings is collaborative, culturally rich and increasingly conscious.
And before I finish this post, I need to tell you about the “exciting” part of the trip. Every night we had incredible dinners and parties, each with a special theme and decoration. Pirates of the Caribbean Party, Rum Party and Carnival Party were some of them, which you can see in the photos below.

Thank you, IADWP, for this international dive into everything I love doing most: celebrating love with purpose, beauty, and excellence.
So, what did you think?
See you next week!
Kisses,
Simone.
