Destination wedding in Egypt: discover Luxor

After a few days in Cairo, it was time to land in Luxor, Egypt , and it was an incredible experience. Luxor is considered Egypt’s biggest tourist attraction and it’s easy to see why. There is so much history and culture here that it’s impossible not to be in awe. Our trip had a purpose, to participate in The IEC or International Event Certification Program , to which I was invited to represent Brazil. The event took place at the Jolie Ville Hotel & Spa Kings Island Luxor , an incredible hotel that offers spacious and well-equipped rooms and suites, restaurants, bars, swimming pools, spa and gym. The secluded location provides a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for guests, making it perfect for a destination wedding . In addition to enjoying the best of Luxor, you will be able to have privacy and all the comfort of a luxury hotel.

My first activity in Luxor, after the event, was a hot air balloon ride, which gave me a breathtaking view of the Valley of the Kings and the Nile. The landscape was breathtaking, with the sun rising over the horizon and the Nile River flowing through the mountains.

Then I visited some local shops for souvenirs , which I can’t resist, like the alabaster shop and the papyrus shop. Both offered amazing handmade products and were a great way to support local businesses. Thinking about the destination wedding , it is worth including a shopping tour like this one.

Another tour was in the Valley of the Kings, in Luxor , which is a place of extreme historical and archaeological importance. Located on the western bank of the Nile River, it is known as the final resting place of the pharaohs of the Egyptian New Kingdom. With its impressive rock-cut tombs, the valley is home to some of the most magnificent works of art and treasures of antiquity. Exploring these richly decorated tombs, with their preserved paintings, murals and hieroglyphs, is a fascinating journey into Egypt’s glorious past.

In the Valley of the Queens , the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut was one of the highlights of my visit. It is an impressive testament to the architectural skill of the ancient Egyptians. I was in awe of the massive columns and the intricate details of the walls and ceilings.

Another temple I visited was the Kom Ombo Temple and Crocodile Museum . The history of ancient Egypt came to life when I saw the museum’s preserved artifacts and mummies. Built more than 2,000 years ago, during the reign of the Ptolemies, it is one of the few double temples in Ancient Egypt, dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Haroeris, the falcon god. The temple features well-preserved reliefs and a series of inner chambers, including a shrine dedicated to each of the deities. A visit to Kom Ombo is a unique opportunity to explore the rich history and culture of Ancient Egypt.

The Temple of Edfu was another highlight, with its massive falcon statues and fascinating stories about Egyptian mythology. It is one of the best preserved temples in Ancient Egypt, dedicated to the god Horus . With its imposing pillars and walls decorated with hieroglyphs, the temple is one of the main tourist attractions in Luxor.

The Karnak Temple was one of the biggest temples I’ve ever seen and I was impressed by the grandeur of the place. The huge columns and incredible reliefs were breathtaking.

I also visited the Luxor Museum , an institution dedicated to the preservation and exposition of Egypt’s ancient history. Located in the city center of Luxor, the museum houses a vast collection of artifacts, including sculptures, stelae and mummies of pharaohs and other ancient Egyptian rulers.

Lastly, I visited the Luxor Temple, located on the east bank of the Nile River in Luxor. Built mainly during the New Kingdom, it is famous for its massive columns and the obelisk of Ramses II at its entrance.

My Luxor trip culminated in a Nile River boat cruise from Luxor to Aswan . The scenery was incredible, with the calm water of the river reflecting the surrounding mountains. It was a perfect way to end my visit to Luxor.

Wassup what did you think? Egypt is too much, right? I was enchanted, in love, in ecstasy with everything I saw and experienced in those days.

Until the next destination!

Kisses,

Simone
