Destination wedding in Italy: discover the historic Castello del Solacium, in Sicily

Hi everyone, how are you? Today we’re stopping in my beloved Italy. I want to share with you one of the beautiful places I visited for a destination wedding in Sicily . Visiting the Castello del Solacium in Syracuse, during my participation in the Wedding Design Course (WDC) in Sicily , was like diving into a fairytale setting. Originally built in the medieval period and surrounded by a huge green area, the castle is a jewel of historical architecture that transports its visitors to another time. As I walked through the imposing entrance gate, I was enveloped by the enchanting atmosphere of this place, where tradition and Sicilian charm meet in harmony.

The castle, which belongs to the Pupillo family, is surrounded by vineyards and well-kept gardens, and its inner courtyard is a natural invitation for outdoor celebrations. The rustic beauty of the ancient stones contrasts with the lush green vegetation, creating a magical and romantic setting for weddings. In addition to the courtyard, the castle also has indoor rooms, which can be used both on the big day and for pre-wedding festivities. The space is incredibly versatile, allowing couples to choose between an outdoor ceremony, under a majestic century-old tree, or a more traditional celebration in its historic halls.

Another thing that impressed me was how easy it was to get to Castello del Solacium. Located just a few minutes from the historic center of Syracuse, it offers the convenience of being close to a vibrant city full of history, without losing the bucolic charm of its surroundings. For guests who want to explore the region, Syracuse is a charming destination, with its historical heritage, typical restaurants and stunning views of the Ionian Sea.

In short, I recommend Castello del Solacium to couples looking for a destination wedding in Sicily, as it offers not only a unique location, but a true immersion in the history and culture of the region. Thank you once again to Panta Rhei Wedding for the invitation and the opportunity to visit this special venue. I can only imagine how many love stories could begin or be celebrated under the shade of that century-old tree, with the Sicilian sunset as our witness.

So, what did you think? If you’re interested, write to me, I’d love to organize your wedding at the castle.

See you next week!

Kisses,

Simone.
