Destination wedding in Ireland: the paradise of Brazilians and homosexuals

Taty and Ciaran’s wedding on the outskirts of Dublin

Who read the title of today’s post surely thought, “Why on earth would anyone choose to get married in Ireland?” But it is wrong to think that this does not happen. In fact, it happens so much that it has changed the way of thinking and performing a ceremony in the country. Who told me this was the photographer Zi Fernandes , who came to me here (website) to present her work, put me in touch with potential future boyfriends and also tell me the success we are doing there.

Like Aonde Casar’s Facebook page!

Zi is Brazilian , has lived there for a year and was elected as one of the best photographers in the world by groups specializing in wedding photography. She told me that Ireland’s most traditional weddings are a little different from ours, especially in terms of grandiosity and quality of service (I’ve already mentioned a little of this here on the blog when I mentioned our high level with other countries). Until recently it was not common to find a ceremonialist in the area, the wedding there took place in the famous DIY method , in free translation “do it yourself”. Which of course made it simpler and riskier. Another curiosity there is the absence of candy table at parties, which makes me a little scared, since a sweetie does not hurt anyone. LOL!

But this has changed, and after many Brazilian weddings have taken place in Ireland, as the price is very inviting close to ours here in Brazil and the historical beauties that exist there, the market is warming and has increasingly sought our services. and products. Fills me with joy, the final, I am a born defender of destination wedding!

Another differential that I loved is the number of homosexual marriages . As is regulated in Ireland, many Brazilian homosexuals have been packing to exchange alliances in the region. Zi told me that this year alone were 11 ceremonies she photographed. That’s what happened with the couple Alan and Anthony. Alan is Brazilian and Anthony is Irish.

I haven’t had the happiness of getting to know Ireland yet, but that will change soon. LOL! However, as I already have some potential grooms wanting me to explore the region, I found some important information that I think is good to share here!

Olha aqui uma influência brasileira: a mesa de doces!
Here is a Brazilian influence: the candy table!

1 – Bureaucracy is infinitely smaller than in Brazil. To give you an idea, only 3 documents are required to apply for marriage (Passport, Certified Birth Certificate, Evidence of your current immigration visa (GNIB Card and stamp in your passport)

2 – Three months is the minimum to schedule a wedding. It is law that you cannot marry before this deadline. So if anyone really wants it, it’s worth starting to move the chopsticks.

3 – The marriage certificate is ready in 3 days.

4 – The most common are hotel ceremonies. The country has luxurious hotels equipped with cutting-edge cuisine and various facilities.

5 – The marriage made in Ireland is recognized in Brazil. However, not automatically. To do so, you will need to register your marriage with the Consular Office of the Brazilian Embassy in Ireland, according to the instructions provided by the agency. I’m already more and more aware of this.

6 – And the last curiosity, but not related to roles, but historical, is the way the marriage proposal is made there. As the Irish are famous for all their romanticism, I loved it. “Would you like to be buried with my people?” Or “Would you like to hang your clothes next to mine?” If she answers yes, the bride can wear a traditional “Claddagh” ring, which is two hands holding a heart with a crown that symbolize friendship, love and loyalty.

So, what did you think? Let’s pack up and break this paradise together?

To the next,

Kisses
