Fam Trip for destination wedding in Cartagena and Bogota, Colombia

Hi guys all right? I was happy with the repercussion of all the posts I made from Marrakech. I can’t wait to go back to have weddings there. But while that doesn’t happen, today I start a special article about Colombia, which I had the pleasure of visiting recently. At the invitation of the Colombian Tourism Secretariat (ProColombia), I landed in the country for a Fam Trip in Cartagena, the Colombian Caribbean, and a business roundtable in Bogotá with the main hotel chains and some local DMCs. It was two delightful days full of information and culture for destination wedding in Colombia . And the best, with a super novelty: starting this month (November) there will be direct flights from São Paulo to Cartagena, look how great!

1st DAY

We started our trip in Cartagena, and we arrived super early and full of cool things to do. We visited several hotels and venues for weddings, all very special, but some won my heart. I’ll comment briefly here, but on other occasions I’ll make separate posts on hotels and wedding destinations in Colombia – in particular Cartagena.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Cartagena, which is beautiful, has a wonderful view and rooms for weddings, and at the Radisson, which, in this case, is ideal for hosting some guests who prefer commercial hotels, without many amenities.

On this first day, we also visited the Hotel Meliá Cartagena Karibana – good for small weddings of up to 60 guests. One of its restaurants, which can host the party, is on the beach – Dreams Karibana Cartagena Golf & Spa Resort – which was one of my favorites. With a private beach for the ceremony, it is incredible, with first-rate service and everything for a destination wedding – , the Hotel Hiton Cartagena and the Estelar Cartagena de Indias – which have a great rooftop, with an incredible view and SKY Bar, Here, I recommend it for a pre-wedding.

Our lunch was at the EL CLERO Restaurant, at the Capellan Hotel, which is very good. Located in the bohemian Getsemani neighborhood, it even has, in front, the Santos de Piedra event space. Hotel Capellan is a very charming boutique hotel, good for mini-weddings.

We ended the first day in Cartagena at the Movich hotel, which has great cuisine, is located in the city and not on the beach, and has a good rooftop for pre-wedding.

2nd DAY

We started our last day in Cartagena at another of my favorite hotels, the Sofitel Santa Clara. Beautiful, with amazing cuisine and very well decorated and comfortable rooms, it is one of the best options in town for weddings. Its privileged location is also a positive point for the trip, as bride and groom and guests arrive in a few minutes at all destinations. Until now I couldn’t forget the delicious lunch we had at the hotel.

In addition to visiting the Sofitel Santa Clara hotel, we also visited the Centro Comercial Serrezuela and had a cocktail experience at El Barón, which was a lot of fun. Great suggestion for the bride and groom to include in their travel schedule.

We ended our trip at the charming Ermita hotel, which surprised me with delicious cuisine with an Arab influence (one of my favorites in the world). The hotel even has a rooftop overlooking the sea, which is ideal for an elopement or mini wedding, or even for a neat pre-wedding with friends and family.

3rd and 4th DAYS

We arrived in Bogotá, where we had an intense day of negotiations. I love it when tourism departments hold this type of event, because you get to meet all the hotel representatives, clear up any doubts, map out the main destinations for weddings (considering the styles of the bride and groom). Anyway, it was super enriching and very interesting. I already knew the fame of Colombia, but I was impressed with the gauge they have for destination wedding . At the end we had a delicious dinner with special participation by the Greater Medellín Convention & Visitors Bureau – amazing tourism and business organization.

I was drawn with room rates at a hotel in San Andreas, isn’t that great!? Lol! I loved!

But of course, even in the rush, we found some time to visit the Museu do Oro and Museu Botero, which I loved!

At the entrance to the Botero Museum, which I’m a big fan of 🥰

Wassup what did you think? Excited to leave for Cartagena? I loved it and, because it’s close, I think it’s an incredible destination wedding destination in Colombia.

See you next week
