I have already shared here the wedding I made in Lago di Como, the trip I did for Italy and the inauguration of the Office of where to marry there. And, of course, during my stay, I made good and valuable visits to the local hotels. And here, I share the first of them: the incredible and luxurious Il Sereno, on the eastern coast of the lake.
I don't even know where to start talking about him, so it was my surprise. Il Sereno is the youngest of the region. But that does not make it the most coffee with milk, on the contrary, consecrates it! With just two years, has won awards of architecture, Premiuns services and even Michelin star for its cutting-edge gastronomy.
Built only with natural materials such as wood, copper, iron, stones… Il Sereno is an invitation to relax, immersion amidst the nature of the surroundings. And even with the rustic materials, the hotel, signed by award-winning designer Patricia Urquiola, is a contemporary design-from the architecture to the discreet décor with designer furniture-coming, mostly, from nearby Milan! From the grand windows, the beautiful view of the lake, the natural light and the peace that run through the entire hotel. And since it could not be different, the whole trousseau, as well as the uniform of the staff, is silk-Lago di Como is the center of the silk industry in Italy.
From the entire wooden lobby and located in the heart of the hotel is where all spaces are intended. By the stunning wooden staircase that brings the illusion and be floating, the award-winning Ristorante Berton Al Lago. Wanted to highlight the cellar, all glass is a great place for a tasting of the groom with the godparents. On the shelves, the best Italian labels. The restaurant was built on top of an old shipyard and has an amazing balcony, with tables and a view of drooling. I was so stupid to see the beauty of the restaurant, it's perfect for the wedding. My tip is to catch the sunset, you have no idea what the light is falling there. The kitchen is a show apart. In the showcase format, you can see the chef and his assistants in action!
The rooms, where to get RS! Altogether, there are six floors of accommodation-30 in total. Over there, the luxury and the five stars prevail in all environments. Each room has its own balcony overlooking the lake, a wonderful decoration in warm shades of gray, blue and green, which blend with the dark wood and bring a sense of perfect peace. In fact, of all the spaces in the room, including the bathroom, the view has priority.
Going to the outside, where I found the space of dreams for the ceremony, a beautiful garden and an infinity pool steal the scene. But don't think it's some pool. It's amazing how Patricia Urquiola got a natural stone of the same color as the lake water. It's a perfect continuation. There are also the two charming hand-made wooden speedboats, which can be rented with or without a driver. One of the boats holds up to 12 people, ideal for a welcome drinks, or even the farewell lunch.
