The day I applied to get the Janssen vaccine

At this time of year, I always do a retrospective of last year, but what about a year like the one we had, right? My 2020 came down to two Famtrip trips to Rome in February and Turkey in November, and a beautiful mini wedding in Rio.

However, 2021 arrived and I’m really optimistic, really! I didn’t think I would have that strong feeling, but I am and I hope that all of you are too. I know we are all tired, but there is so little left to go. So I hope that everyone has the strength to endure. On this year’s agenda, I have some weddings that were postponed from last year in Italy, Portugal and New York. In addition to some congresses in Greece, Turkey and other wonderful destinations that I want to present to you throughout the year. I’m dying to travel!

What I most expect from 2021 is the vaccine , just like everyone else! I trust science a lot, I believe that only it can save us and save the world economy. Only it will allow us to live again, and not to survive, as I believe we are at this moment. So I ask everyone to get vaccinated and not be afraid. It is not a country or a laboratory working to find a cure, but the whole world. And there is no way the whole world is going the wrong way, right? I believe so much, that I applied for the vaccine tests of Janssen, Johnson & Johnson.

On the day of the first application

The clinical study of Janssen (VAC31518COV3001) called ensemble, the candidate vaccine company COVID-19, JNJ-78436735, also known as Ad26.COV2.S, lasts two years. I am in the second phase , that is, I received the first dose and I already made the first consultation for 30 days. The next steps are: spaced queries. The next is 71 days, then 24 weeks, and so on. The study does not reveal whether you received the vaccine or the placebo, however, it does not prohibit you from taking the test on your own to check whether or not you are immunized. And that’s exactly what I intend to do next week lol!

A lot of people asked me about the rules and limitations, and in this study of which I am a part, there are no restrictions. I saw that there are studies that do not recommend the consumption of alcoholic beverages in the 45 days following the vaccine. I drank at the holidays and I didn’t have any problems. I also felt nothing at all. No pain, no weakness, much less being sick.

The message I wanted to leave in this post is: if you are in doubt, afraid or do not believe in the vaccines that are being launched in the world. Believe in the good that you will be doing for your family members and for so many other families when you get vaccinated. Today, more than protecting ourselves, we need to protect ourselves, in a universal chorus.

Hold on, I’m sure we’ll only have joy in 2021!

Happy New Year,
Simone
